T-Mobile CZ is the largest mobile carrier operating in Czech Republic. The company has been operating since 1996 as RadioMobil under the brand name Paegas until 2001 when a partnership between České Radiokomunikace and Deutsche Telekom saw the company rebranded to T-Mobile in 2002.
The company provides 2G GSM services over the 900 and 1800 MHz bands, and launched 3G UMTS over B1 (2100 MHz) in January 2008 which it upgraded to HSPA+ in November 2008, and later to DC-HSPA+ in April 2012.
4G LTE began in October 2013 using a 20 MHz B3 (1800 MHz) carrier, and B20 (800 MHz) LTE to provide extended coverage in rural areas. In July 2014 T-Mobile launched the first Czech LTE-A services, combining 20 MHz of B3 (1800 MHz) with 10 MHz of B20 (800 MHz) to achieve peak downlink data rates of 225 Mbps. B1 (2100 MHz) was added to the LTE-A mix in December 2015, using 3C aggregation to increase peak data rates to 375 Mbps. February 2016 saw the introduction of B7 (2600 MHz) with a 20 MHz channel.
In March 2017 T-Mobile announced the introduction of fixed LTE to provide up to 100 Mbps connections to previously unreachable locations. The company is working with Huawei to implement 4X4 MIMO on its FWA network, as well as testing Massive MIMO on its mobile network.
